Stopped off at the Falcon for lunch last Saturday. The weather was superb so we were happy to sit outside, soak up some rays and enjoy some decent food after a punishing session in the gym.

I'd never been to The Falcon before and was very impressed by the decor. It's really smart and contemporay inside. Clearly they've spent some serious money on the recent refurb (no idea when that was) and imho it is money well spent.

I guess they must rely on their reputation to a large degree as it is a little out in the sticks.

Decided on a moroccan chicken wrap with homemade crisps and a salad garnish for myself. The lomd chose a Falcon chicken burger (burger, chips, homemade coleslaw). Chicken wrap with salad was very tasty but disappointingly small. I would appreciate it if there was an indication on the menu that certain dishes are for smaller appetites. The crisps were very nice but once again too few of them. The chicken burger was also nice and the meal was filling with the chips and coleslaw. I guess the extra £3 was worth the money.

For drinks we had a pint of stella and a glass of coke.

Total bill came to £19 for drinks and food which would be fine but I was still hungry after.

I can't give much help on the rest of the menu as I didn't see anyone else eating whilst we were there. The specials looked quite interesting with a couple of fish dishes listed and the main menu appeared to be well stocked with the usual pub classics such as steak pie etc.. Most mains appeared in gastro pub prices of £10 - £20 from memory.
