As part of the September 7 & 8 weekend Artsfest programme in the centre of Birmingham, Bank is participating with a Taste Bank celebration of food. Between 3.00pm and 5.00pm on the Saturday and Sunday, Bank will Bar-B-Q different foods and set up a market stall on the front colonnade to encourage people to sample the Bank style. Complimentary samples of food and drink will be served outdoors, so go along and enjoy the fun. Continuing with an Arts theme, Birmingham Royal Ballet is teaming up with Bank for a series of fundraising lunches to raise the profile of entertainment in Birmingham and to support the artistic development of BRB. The first lunch is on Wednesday November 6 with David Bintley, Director of BRB, as guest speaker to discuss the arts in Birmingham. There will be drinks and canapés on arrival followed by a 2-course lunch with coffee. The all-inclusive price is £40.00 per ticket. Spaces are limited and are available through booking with Lisa Barrett, Development officer, BRB on 0121 245 3545. Finally there are a limited number of spaces available for their cookery demonstration ‘Basic pastry’ on September 3. Pastry chef, Dean Cole, will take the class through the basic principles of making perfect pastry for savoury and sweet dishes. The demonstration lasts between 11:30 – 2:30 and includes coffee on arrival, demo followed by a two-course lunch with a glass of champagne for an all-inclusive price of £24.95.
