Two University College Birmingham chef lecturers and a leading Michelin star chef are looking to hold a reunion of former chef colleagues who worked with them at the Plough and Harrow hotel on Hagley Road, Birmingham. Andreas Antona of Simpsons, Edgbaston and lecturers Giovanni Di-Vito and Mike Robinson all worked at the Plough and Harrow in the early part of their careers, and they are now keen to hear from chef colleagues from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s. Giovanni Di-Vito was Executive Chef at the hotel from 1984 – 1995. He says: “ We still bump into a number of former Plough and Harrow chefs and thought it would be great fun to meet up and renew old friendships, catch up with what people are doing and reminisce about our great days at the hotel”. Mike Robinson, Executive Chef from 1966 – 1976 said: “The reunion is planned for later this year and will be held in our Atrium restaurant at the College of Food, University College Birmingham. We are hoping that people will be able to help us track down as many former colleagues as possible so that we can organise an event that we can all remember”. Anyone who can help can contact Giovanni Di-Vito by email at g.di-vito@ucb.ac.uk or call 0121 604 1000. |
