We are delighted to announce that Opus Restaurant has won Heart of England’s ‘Taste of the Heart’ Award for 2008.
The Heart of England judges looked for restaurants throughout the Midlands who maximise the use of seasonal and regional produce and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the local community. Both of these are key to Opus as an independent restaurant entirely funded by local people.
Judges were also looking for consistent delivery of excellence in service and food as well as execution of fresh, innovative marketing ideas. They were especially impressed with the Opus Dinner Series where customers meet the passionate farmers, fishermen and wine growers behind the ingredients on the menu.
Opus is the first Birmingham city centre restaurant to win Taste of the Heart’. A number of people have helped us to break the mould, especially our hard working kitchen brigade and front of house team and our suppliers of quality produce; most have been part of the Opus family since we opened three years ago. But our biggest thanks goes to our loyal, dedicated customers for their continued support,’ Ann Tonks, Irene Allan, David Colcombe
